Scaryfangirl Quiz
How many times have you watched Hornblower?
Once or twice.
A few times.
Enough that I've lost count.
WHICH Hornblower movie? Peck or Gruffudd? Be specific, you lubber!
Do you own any movies that HH actors have done outside of Hornblower?
Outside of Hornblower? I don't even own the Hornblower DVDs!
I think I might have Titanic...
I've seen a lot of them, but most of them were loaned to me.
I'm considering putting an addition on my house to accommodate all of them.
Your favorite HH actor is going to be performing on stage in a town three hours from your home. You...
Find out about it a week after the show finishes its run.
Hear about it as soon as the news hits the boards, but decline to go because of the distance.
Buy a ticket and make arrangements to catch one of the shows with some HH pals in the vicinity.
Scrutinize your checkbook to figure out how many performances you can catch without bankrupting yourself.
How often do you watch, read or discuss anything related to Hornblower?
Every now and then, but certainly not often.
Schedule permitting, a few times a week maybe.
I at least try to check the boards every day.
I think the better question is when am I NOT doing something Hornblower-related.
Does the name "Jonathan Aris" mean anything to you?
No, but I can pronounce it (which is more than I can say for "Ioan Gruffudd").
He is the actor who plays the midshipman who is asked to define a "rhumb line".
He is the actor who plays Bracegirdle.
He is one of the Hornblower producers.
Betsy Bonaparte. What say you?
I hear that she is in "Duty", but I am afraid I have not watched it because I am boycotting all Crumpet-less Hornblower movies.
Who?
Horatio should have let the wench drown.
I would have thought that Horatio would have gone for her over Maria.
She was all right.
Regarding Hornblower forums...
I mostly lurk.
I post on a few, but generally stick to my favorite one or two.
I am registered on several, including (but not limited to) actor sites, fanfiction sites and a couple of Hornblower sites that aren't even in my native language.
The most challenging philosophical question ever asked is...
"What is the meaning of life?"
"Why?"
"Who pushed Captain Sawyer?"
You live in the US and hear that Retribution is scheduled to air on TV. You...
Shrug. I've seen it before and/or own the DVDs.
Watch it if I get the chance. There's just something about seeing Hornblower on TV.
Tape it. There are scenes in there that the A&E execs cut from the DVDs, darn them.
Watch, but don't bother taping. I taped it the first time it aired and I bought the Region 2 DVD as soon as I heard about the extra scenes.
Do you own a multi-region DVD player?
DVDs have regions?
No. I've learned to live with the snowy picture of converted VHS tapes.
Not yet...despite the fact that I have a couple of DVDs from outside of my region.
How dare you impugn my honor by suggesting I would not!
Have you read the Hornblower books?
I've read the whole series once.
No. And I don't plan on it.
I would like to, but I haven't found the time yet.
Several times. Want to see my notes?
