Below are a few examples of
the sorts of things one might write on a postcard going to A&E/Granada.
Please do not simply copy them! Try your best to put them in your own
words.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing because I have recently discovered that A&E
is no longer planning to continue the Horatio Hornblower series.
Since it first aired, I have been a huge fan of the show and have
purchased all of the series on DVD from the A&E Store. The program is
wonderfully acted and the stories are very entertaining. I hope that
you will reconsider your decision and continue to make Hornblower
movies.
Sincerely,
Hello,
I recently came across your Horatio Hornblower
series and fell in love with the show. I was very disappointed to learn
from an interview with the title character, Ioan Gruffudd, that your
network was no longer going to continue the series.
It was a phenomenal bit of drama and is exactly the sort
of high-quality show that I have come to associate with your network.
My family does not watch a great deal of TV, but we tune in whenever
Hornblower is shown and have bought the DVDs.
Please keep producing the series! There just isn't
enough good programming like Hornblower on television any more.
Thank you,
Dear A&E,
I'm writing in hopes that you will continue to make the
Horatio Hornblower series. I've been an Age of Sail fan for a
very long time and was very impressed by your version of these classic
novels. Not only have I enjoyed them, but I have told many of my
friends about them as well and they have been as entertained by the
series as I was.
From my understanding, the series did very well in the
ratings when it was aired. It is story-telling at its best as proven by
its Emmy awards and nominations. Please don't discard such an
outstanding and intelligent series. There are far too few shows
destined to be 'classics' on TV now--and Hornblower is definitely
a timeless piece of entertainment.
Sincerely,
