Welcome to ScaryFangirl.Com, a place for those who are (or would like to be) obsessed with C.S. Forester's nautical hero, Horatio Hornblower.  This site is dedicated to the multiple dimensions of the Hornblower fandom, from the books to the movies, encompassing both the studious and the remarkably silly.  It is my hope that Hornblower junkies the world over will find something here to brighten their day whether their tastes run to the historical or the hysterical.  Enjoy!

• 4/4/08 - Hornblower appreciation week continues and today marks the 9th anniversary of the premiere of The Duel on A&E.
• 4/2/08 - Today marks the 42nd anniversary of Hornblower author C.S. Forester's death.

• 5/9/08 - Congratulations to Sean Gilder ("Styles") on the birth of his son, Thomas Elwyn Gilder, on April 25, 2008.  Click here to visit Sean's website and see a photo of little Thomas and his proud father.

• 5/2/08  - The Grand Turk has landed a role in US-based NBC's upcoming miniseries based on the classic novel, Robinson Crusoe.  For more information, check out the Scarborough Evening News!

• 2/26/08 - If you happen to live in the Tacoma area of Washington, consider a trip to the Sumner Library to check out the work of teenaged doll-clothing crafter, Margaret Hoang.  Her collection of literary-inspired Barbies will be on display until the end of March.  Among the characters she has 'dolled up' are Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet and Horatio Hornblower.
